STORY: The first batch of UAE soldiers returning home from Yemen were greeted as heroes in Abu Dhabi on Saturday (November 7).
Thousands of people gathered along the side of Abu Dhabi highway, waving UAE flags and throwing red roses onto the passing motorcade of military vehicles carrying the returning soldiers.
The soldiers have been relieved on rotation by a second batch, which will continue fighting in Yemen, according to UAE newspaper, the National.
UAE troops are part of the Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and fighting the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
