The Arizona-based evangelist who first complained about the coffee giant's new holiday cups says clearly he's tapped into shared concern. Jennifer Davis reports.
By now you're surely heard about the controversy swirling around these Starbucks red cups - and the coffee loving Christians angry this year's holiday cup doesn't feature holiday designs. But have you heard from this guy....because he's the one who started it all. Joshua Feuerstein posted a video rant online a few days ago - complaining that Starbucks removed Christmas from its signature holiday cup. The Arizona-based evangelist and social media personality hoped to get people's attention....and let's just say for him - Christmas came early. (SOUNDBITE) EVANGELIST JOSHUA FEURERSTEIN "Just by looking at all the shares and views on Facebook the fact it has been a trending hashtag over the last two days - I think that Starbucks and America is listening to people saying we are tired of being politically correct - we just want to be correct...." His video has more than 11 million hits so far even as many Christians and religious leaders are speaking out saying they don't share Feuerstein's concerns over the cup.
