The streets of Taiz become a battlefield in Yemen. Fierce clashes erupt as loyalists of exiled President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi launch an offensive aimed at ending the siege imposed by the Iran-backed Houthis who control the entryways into the strategic city. A pro-Hadi fighter expects victory. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) UNNAMED PRO-HADI FIGHTER, SAYING: "God willing, this is the beginning of the liberation of Taiz and lifting the siege, and these are the first steps, with air support in the coming hours and days, this will be accomplished, God willing." Taiz was once renowned for its cosmopolitan culture. Now anyone can become a victim. In a civil war that has claimed the lives of some 5,600 people.
