Prince joins lists of Europe concert no-shows including U2 and Foo Fighters after Paris shootings. Rollo Ross reports.
Prince has become the latest big name artist to cancel concerts in France and elsewhere in Europe after Friday's gun and bomb rampage in Paris which killed at least 129 people. U2 cancelled the show they were due to perform on the night after the massacre, but have vowed to reschedule it at a more appropriate time. Other artists who have pulled out of planned tours and concerts include British band Coldplay, American rockers Foo Fighters and Marilyn Manson. One who chose to go on was Madonna who continued with her concert in Stockholm, where she paid tribute to the dead and sent out a message of defiance. SOUNDBITE singer Madonna, saying (English): "I feel torn like why am I up here dancing and having fun when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones. However, that is exactly what these people want to do, they want to shut us up and we won't let." The events in Paris have not just affected the music industry but also film. Natalie Portman has reportedly pulled out of her Paris premiere for the upcoming film 'Jane Got a Gun' and the Los Angeles premiere for 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' has been downscaled to a photography only fan event.
