ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: U.S. presidential candidate Marco Rubio released a new campaign ad on Monday (November 23) in which the Republican contender warns that the deadly Paris attacks could also happen in the United States. "This is a civilizational struggle between the values of freedom and liberty and radical Islamic terror," Rubio says in the opening of the TV ad. "What happened in Paris could happen here.... These aren't disgruntled or dis-empowered people. These are radical terrorists who want to kill us," he says. Islamic State militants unleashed coordinated attacks in Paris on November 13, killing 130 people and injuring scores more. Rubio, 44, is competing with Jeb Bush, 62, for establishment Republican votes to win his party's nomination in the 2016 presidential election. Last week, the U.S. senator from Florida said the United States' intelligence capabilities had been weakened, and that some of his rivals seeking the White House in 2016 had helped that effort.
