Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton added on Tuesday to the mounting criticisms against GOP frontrunner Donald Trump over his controversial proposal to bar Muslims from entering the United States.
Speaking at a town hall event in New Hampshire, the former secretary of state called Trump's proposal "shameless and dangerous."
"At a time when America should be doing everything we can to lead the fight to defeat ISIS and other radical jihadist, Donald Trump is playing right into their hands," Clinton said.
On Monday, Trump called for blocking Muslims, including would-be immigrants, students, tourists and other visitors, from entering the country following last week's California shooting spree by two Muslims who authorities said were radicalized.
It was the most dramatic response by a presidential candidate following the San Bernardino, California, rampage, even as other Republicans have called for a suspension of President Barack Obama's plan to allow in 10,000 refugees from Syria.
