Hours after getting a Golden Globe nomination, Quentin Tarantino say's he's proud of new film ''The Hateful Eight''. Jane Witherspoon reports.
Bounty hunters in post-Civil War Wyoming. The perfect combination for a Quentin Tarantino western. SOUNDBITE: Actor, Walton Goggins, saying (English): "A really good friend of mine said 'You're gonna do a Quentin Tarantino western?' Yes I am. How cool is your horse? I don't have a horse. How cool is your hat? I've got a really cool hat but I don't wear it that often. How cool is your gun? Well I have a gun but it gets taken away. He said 'what kind of a western are you doing?' I said a Quentin Tarantino Western." The three hour film had its European premiere in London just hours after it was nominated for three Golden Globes. SOUNDBITE, Director, Quentin Tarantino, saying, (English): "Oh I'd just got out of lunch so I was very happy. I'm real proud of the script so I'm glad it got nominated." The film brings together Tarantino alumni in the form of Samuel L Jackson and Tim Roth. SOUNDBITE: Actor, Tim Roth, saying, (English): "I mean he wrote this for me kind of this is his little nod to the nineties I think. Erm so err, I mean I learnt very early with Quentin on "Reservoir Dogs" which was his first one you know if you've got a write like that you never say no you just hope you're going to get invited so you know he invited me to the party." The filmmaker has previously won two Academy Awards for "Django Unchained" and "Pulp Fiction". He says he's not holding out for a Best Director Oscar. SOUNDBITE: Director, Quentin Tarantino, saying, (English): "Well I don't know about that. Normally when it comes to people that win best director it's usually a sweep. They win best director, they win four or five other things. I don't know I've never done a movie that's had a sweep so we'll see what happens." "The Hateful Eight" is released in cinemas on January 8th.
