ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) File footage shows Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia along with his family on the steps of the Supreme Court on the day he was sworn-in, September 9th 1986. Scalia, 79, was found dead at a resort in West Texas. Local media and officials say he died of natural causes. U.S. President Barack Obama offered his condolences and said he did intend to nominate a replacement. Signaling that Obama would face a stiff battle to win confirmation of a nominee before he leaves the White House next January, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement that the vacancy on the high court "should not be filled until we have a new president." Obama's choice of replacement for the ninth member could tilt the balance of the court which now consists of four conservatives and four liberals.
