Oil stocks offer good value and dividends, says Dan Neiman of Neiman Funds Management. He has been adding Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Valero to his portfolio. Fred Katayama reports.
Stocks edging lower as oil prices head down. Let's take a closer look at the markets from Los Angeles where we're joined by Dan the man he's a partner in Neiman funds and also portfolio manager. And welcome. The stocks are trading at a rather narrow. Range today but what's behind it hesitancy industries. Well as. I think there's a lot hesitancy. At the bigger picture on at least we were managing large cap valley on. You know we're looking a lot of volatility answered in markets. Certainly. And Belgian man. Multiple things across the across our country across the world really I think provides. More volatile it works. What seems to be oh pressuring in the market today. I'll oil prices down again. Will investors keep turning toilet in the absence of big earnings news or earnings state economic data. Well you know I think that looked. Pass that your house is actually oil companies produce. Oil and future profit and actually. Start to put more money into oil back a year and half ago. Put some money. Aero Phillips and a lately rolls them some of our investments in tee back into the ex. Wife. Like I just feel that that oil companies can make money and what we're looking for his first market value. Coming up for a. And I'm also looking for companies that continue to pitch in an increase in the year after year. And those companies and tension on on that year year and a lot of earnings and not Israel busted in the past I still think they're making money hand. It's a good chance that I am items. That you or your large cap on you know and shares of Nike that company has been on a pair up. Quarterly profit and sales surged but the revenue missed expectations and today. It's allows 1000 leading decliner that's a point 3% over the last moment I do think Nike's money sustainable. Well I don't it throws sustainable long runs and acting like Nike and I'm I'd be wearing Nikes Ellison. Name that I think idea. Yet and they can Nike for a long long time and I think that's maybe it buying opportunity doctor 4% last I checked. And I I really feel. Anthony's maybe sluggish but still there's still earning quite a bit and I think that revenue stream. Maybe got hurt by the stronger dollar and and I think that over the long on the news and also be the biggest players and it's. Are they existing home sales that fell sharply. And they fell across all regions and today we got that new home sales figures they reunited forever but only in the west. I don't know looking at you're large cap fund you don't seem to own a home builder stocks. DC the housing market losing momentum. You know I IC is the continued low interest rates pushing the ten year. Helping boost especially here in the last and it rates are so low that you can get into a prop weird a second home for example. You yeah Ali you're in this the real low interest rates and lots and nice you know thirty year fixed mortgage. We don't own home builders but we do on planet companies that own real state and I think that diversification across the board company that cost go. Other companies that are out there it that own real estate we have those. And while not directed to sail Home Depot Lowe's we are spread across borders. Whatever is possible that. And quickly and we talked about stuff you're buying and Stubbs you're selling. You know I just actually got out of marathon because some trouble there petroleum but I really what we're trying to do our body is built it. Core holding position we've got about 35 stops on. And again bike fun nine strong companies though until company's earnings fifteen to report that corporate quarterly. Okay thanks to. Thanks Dan. I think again the human immune funds management I'm Fred I'm ailment this is.
