Migrants trapped at the makeshift camp on the Greece-Macedonia border are turning to alternative routes to reach northern Europe. Nathan Frandino reports.
Migrants are standing by in Macedonia, waiting for the perfect moment to flee. Under the cover of nature, this group is taking fate into their own hands -- seeking a new way to head north. They're believed to have come from Idomeni, a sprawling tent city in Greece hosting thousands of refugees and migrants stranded by border shutdowns throughout the Balkans. Some of those still camped out here are thinking about trying their luck with the new routes as well. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MAN FROM ALEPPO, SYRIA, MOUTAZ, SAYING: "My opinion is that I want to go along with this movement, which is what all the people are currently doing. There is no other solution." Some people chance the trek on their own. While others may be using traffickers to get smuggled across the border. One thing is for sure, one way or another, they won't be giving up on their journey anytime soon.
