Alexander Skarsgard, Margot Robbie and Christoph Waltz hit the red carpet in London for the European premiere of 'The Legend of Tarzan'. Rollo Ross reports.
There was a fair amount of monkeying around in London to celebrate the arrival of Tarzan's latest cinematic outing... and there was a premiere too. "The Legend of Tarzan" sees the lord of the jungle return to his roots in Africa to fight Belgians trying to enslave the locals. And the reported 180 million dollar budget most definitely didn't go on special effects. SOUNDBITE actress, Margot Robbie, saying (English): "You would think that but they actually built all the sets, the jungle, the village, the town, everything was tangible and there for us so we didn't need to use our imagination much in that respect, it was really just the animals." SOUNDBITE actor Alexander Skarsgard, saying (English): "It was such a massive, massive set that they built up in Leavesdon in Watford and I couldn't believe it. Every morning I showed up I was like 'my job today is to play around on these massive sets. It's like a playground." What wasn't a playground was Skarsgard's nine months of training and diet to get the vine-swinging hero's washboard stomach. But did he keep up the regime after filming was over? SOUNDBITE actor Alexander Skarsgard, saying (English): "Definitely not. My dad was shooting a miniseries in London at the time, and so I went straight to his house, and he loves to cook, my father, and so I went straight to his house after wrap and spent four to five days on his couch just being fed. Incredible weekend." "The Legend of Tarzan" swings into cinemas in Europe from July 6.
