Residents in Saint Amant, Louisiana gather for prayers after a gunman shot dead three police officers in neighbouring Baton Rouge. The suspect, an ex-Marine, was killed minutes later in a gunfight. Just two weeks before, police there shot dead an unarmed black man, sparking nationwide protests. (SOUNDBITE) (English) LOUISIANA RESIDENT, SAYING: "It's just sad for everybody involved, all the families, the country, everything... It just needs to stop. I mean, there are too many people broken up, there's too many different groups, everybody just needs to be one." In Baton Rouge, flowers were laid to remember the victims. The city has a long history of distrust between African-Americans and law enforcement. President Barack Obama has condemned the shooting and is seeking to balance concerns about police violence, while paying tribute to the officers killed.
