After Trump's ''not a war hero'' remark about Sen. John McCain last year, retired Rear Admiral John Hutson had a message for the Republican nominee from the DNC stage: ''Donald, you're not fit to polish John McCain's boots.'' Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Retired U.S. Navy Real Admiral John Hutson criticized Republican nominee Donald Trump's remarks about former military veteran, U.S. Senator John McCain, at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Wednesday. "More than 120 Republican national security leaders recently warned that Donald Trump would, in their words, 'make America less safe.' He even mocks our POWs (prisoners of war) like John McCain," Hutson said. "I served in the same Navy as John McCain. I used to vote in the same party as John McCain. Donald, you're not fit to polish John McCain's boots." Nearly one year ago, Trump drew fire for telling an audience in Iowa that McCain was "not a war hero," and got that distinction only because he was captured, although he later softened his remarks.
