Three hospitals have come under attack as the war rages in Syria. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.
A plume of smoke hangs over a hospital in Deraa. It's one of three hospitals to come under attack in Syria this week alone. Amateur video which can not be independently verified by Reuters shows a facility broken apart. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says five people were killed, including a woman and a pharmacist. A child's body is found in the street. This is all that's left of a hospital in Aleppo. It's shut down now after recent Russian air strikes. In Aleppo, nearly 250,000 civilians have been trapped for weeks inside rebel-held parts of the city. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government and its Russian allies have declared a joint humanitarian operation for the besieged parts of Aleppo, dropping leaflets telling fighters to surrender and civilians to leave. The UN has raised misgivings about the plan and U.S. officials suggest it may be an attempt to depopulate the city - the most important opposition stronghold in the country.
