Donald Trump has accused U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan of being ''weak and ineffective'', one day after the top Republican in Congress said he was not going to defend Trump as the party's presidential nominee or campaign for him. Jillian Kitchener reports.
Donald Trump is on the attack again...but this time against his own party and House Speaker Paul Ryan in particular. With a new series of Tweets, Trump accuses Ryan and other Republicans of being disloyal, for failing to back him after the publication of a 2005 video where he's heard making sexually aggressive comments about women. Ryan has said he is not going to defend Trump or campaign for him, but has not withdrawn his endorsement. He DID tell Republicans on Monday, that he WOULD put his full energy into preserving Republican majorities in Congress... and not give Hillary Clinton what he called a "blank check." RNC Chairman Reince Priebus made clear the committee would still support Trump. ...but this group, protesting outside of the RNC headquarters, is demanding the opposite. They want Priebus and Ryan to withdraw their endorsement of Trump, and disavow, what they call, the GOP's politics of hate.
