Czech police, in collaboration with the FBI, have arrested a Russian national in Prague in connection with cyberattacks that targeted the United States. Mana Rabiee reports.
Czech police video shows the moment of the arrest...a Russian national, detained in a restaurant at a hotel in central Prague, allegedly for cyber attacks on targets in the U.S. Czech police say they arrested the man on October 5th with help from the FBI. They've identified him only as 28-year-old, Yevgeniy N - they have not released his full last name, or any details about his alleged crimes. The U.S. government earlier this month did formally accuse Russia of a cyber campaign against the Democratic Party, ahead of the Nov. 8 presidential election although the arrested man was reportedly wanted in connection to an older hacking crime. Moscow has insisted the detained man be handed over to Russia, saying it will act to protect its citizens.
