The world's oldest leader has been in power since 1980, Speaking to supporters, he attributed his long life to a "mission" from God to "fulfil the needs and demands" of the people of Zimbabwe. (SOUNDBITE) (English) Zimbabwe's president Robert Mugabe, saying (English): "I accept the mission my Lord." Critics say Mugabe's policies have ruined the once promising country. But he is due to stand for re-election next year, and says his ZANU-PF party has no viable alternative candidates. Indicating that he has no intention of stepping down.
