CNN terminates Kathy Griffin's agreement to appear on its New Year's Eve broadcast after posing in photographs with a fake severed head resembling Donald Trump. Bob Mezan reports.
Kathy Griffin has lost her job hosting CNN's annual New Year's Eve broadcast. The network terminated the comedian after she posed in photographs with a fake severed head resembling U.S. President Donald Trump. CNN's public relations department announced the decision in a Twitter post. Griffin apologized in a video posted to Twitter late on Tuesday saying, "I'm a comic...I move the line and then I cross it... I went way too far...The image is too disturbing...I ask your forgiveness." The photo caused a social media backlash, with Trump, among others, taking to Twitter to denounce the images.
