ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Republican Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona said the Republican Party has 'lost its way' and needed to return back to traditional conservatism. "The party has lost its way," Flake said on CBS "Face the Nation". "We have given into nativism, protectionism and I think we gotta go back to traditional conservatism... We've seen unfortunately too many examples of members of Congress and other elected officials using language, referring to your opponents that you would never have used before." Flake added the the modern media culture values those that yell the loudest. "The tougher path is frankly to have kind of demeanor that some people might call boring, but you got to move ahead and tackle the policy issues and the problem is this is very much getting in the way and solving the problems we got to solve," Flake said.
